Highlights
Later this year I will celebrate my 18th year with Rocket Companies - all spent with the communications team. I have always enjoyed a strong relationship with the marketing team and valued our partnership.
Enter Jonathan Mildenhall, who joined us 5 months ago and basically told me to strap in because he was going to teach this old dog some new tricks.
Now, I find myself in the middle of creative critiques, learning from so many smart creatives all around me. As a story-teller by nature and trade, it is great to be surrounded by people that see things differently than I do - as we work together to make each other’s work better.
Today, we announced that we have named MIRIMAR CREATIVE GROUP as our agency of record. In years past, that wouldn’t have meant much to me. Now, it means the world – I have been a part of the work they are doing and it is absolutely incredible.
Big stuff is ahead of us and I cannot wait to continue working side-by-side with both our integrated marketing team and Mirimar as we continue to lay the groundwork to inspire the world.
Today is a day that I have both looked forward to and dreaded for some time. You see, today my son Caleb Emerson will be graduating high school.
The excitement comes from seeing his accomplishments celebrated and the hesitancy is from the acceptance that my little buddy is growing up and will soon be taking on his next adventure.
I cannot be prouder of the man he has become. He has excelled in the classroom – he is the salutatorian – and in everything else he’s put his mind to. He’s worked his tail off in the classroom, taking six AP classes at a time, he’s participated in Model UN, led the Brighton Cyber Club, was a member of the National Honors Society, played soccer and worked a job – all while obtaining straight A’s and taking college courses on the side.
He demonstrates a level of grind and grit uncommon today.
Tonight, will be the payoff for all that hard work as he is surrounded by just some of the people who love him most and have always been his biggest cheerleaders. This fall he will be headed to the University of Michigan to dual major in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.
Caleb – it would be impossible to be any prouder of you than I am. I admire you and thank you for always choosing to do what’s right and what’s noble. You are a good, good man destined to do great things. Go take on the world!
P.S. - Hope I didn't embarrass you too much buddy!!
