Highlights
Our world is profoundly 3D.
From spontaneous memories made with friends and family, to the sense of presence while gazing over a vast countryside landscape, and the deep sonic embrace of a late summer’s thunderstorm. To live in 3D is to be human, and to be human is to live in 3D.
Yet, as you read this, 562,470 photos have been captured, forever relegating the human essence of our memories to a flat, two-dimensional device.
For nearly 200 years, advancements have touched every facet of media except the media itself. Today marks a transformative moment—a revolution that will redefine how we revisit our past, experience our present, and envision our future.
Enter modu: an app designed to capture, restore, and immerse you in your moments. At the core of this app is a revolutionary new technology that we call “reality”.
reality is a media format unlike anything you've encountered—seen, heard, or experienced before. By eliminating pixels and encoding memories into digital particles, reality creates a dynamic 3D replay of your world, all from a single image.
With the press of a button, entirely new angles come into view. A wave of the hand can move lights around a scene, casting reflections and shadows indistinguishable from the real world. Memories can be experienced at life size, all in real time.
Today, it's 3D photos; next, we will be extending the reality format to spatial audio, and you won't believe what we have in store for video.
This is no longer science fiction; it's a tangible reality.
But, don't just take my word for it. Pre-order modu today and prepare to experience it for yourself.
“Our world isn’t flat… so our media shouldn’t be either”
As some of you know, my co-founder Mo Alissa and I have been in the lab for the last 2 years working on the next evolution of Media. An evolution powered by Augmented Reality that will finally bring depth to our photos, audio, and art.
We call it Media 3.0, and this past week we introduced it (and our platform for it) to the world on Center Stage of the 2022 Collision Conference in Toronto. It’s my pleasure to finally unveil MODU (by MODU Research) to you all.
Thank you to the Collision staff and PITCH judges for providing us with an opportunity to present on centre stage. In addition to that, I’d like to give a huge shoutout to Gus Balbontin and Phil G. Joseph for helping us turn a conventional pitch into a storytelling experience unlike anything else.
We will share more details soon as we progress towards the release of our platform. Until then, feel free to reach out with any questions around the company or our upcoming raise.
