Highlights
A bad picture. A nostalgic thought. A request to all.
20 years ago I came to this building in Copenhagen. Bredgade 30. I couldn't sleep the night before that interview. I was on my twenties and this was the first opportunity to start my international career.
Few weeks later I would start the job I applied for.
This week, I drove by the same building, together with another 10 leaders of the private and public sector from Singapore as part of the "Chief Changemakers Program" by Company of Good. I couldn't stop thinking about that day in the early 2000's... - how things would have been if someone (a few) would have not bet on me back then. I would have not had international experience to join the B school I wanted. I would have not ended up in my current role meeting the people I work with today, my son would not speak singlish 😮 and many more "I/We would have not...."
How lucky I was to count on people around me to lift me up and to help me fulfill my ambitions.
So for all of us out there that now manage the future generations, remember, our decisions and ability in supporting someone's aspirations and development at young age today might result in them living their dreams in the future. And in all honesty, is always more fulfilling being part of other people's dreams than of your own...

National Day, Resilience, and Future Leaders
As Singapore turns 59 this week, I can't help but reflect on what has made this country so successful over nearly six decades. The tenacity of the early generations, the ability to adapt, innovate, and transform – these qualities have been instrumental in shaping the nation's progress.
As those thoughts ran through my mind, I had the honour of attending the launch of CORI at Ngee Ann Polytechnic together with Minister of Education Chan Chun Sing and Kok Kiang Lim, Principal at NP. CORI stands for Centre of Organizational Resilience and Inclusion and it represents NP’s latest initiative to equip future generations of Singaporeans to thrive in an ever-evolving world, embracing both diversity and adversity – crucial for sustaining Singapore as a leading talent hub.
Sodexo has played an instrumental role in becoming the first company to pilot their Corporate Purpose Internship programme. The first of its kind, the programme offers students invaluable insights into how companies like Sodexo integrate corporate purpose into their operations. It underscores our shared vision of developing purpose-driven leaders who can create meaningful social impact and drive change.
I’ve had the immense pleasure of working directly with Khin Ingyin Lae, the student brave enough to raise her hand and step forward as the first intern for the CORI Corporate Purpose Internship programme. Her drive, the way she views a challenge and the creative way in which she identifies solutions to do good in our community is inspiring. It makes me proud to work with young people like her and for us to play a small role in supporting the next generation who will build the future of Singapore.
Happy National Day!
