Highlights
Last week, Brand Innovators hosted 1 day conference on Building Customer Loyalty Summit at American Airlines HQ in Dallas. I had a terrific opportunity to chat with InMobi's Sara Camden , Teads' Wesley Lenear, Vurvey's Chad Reynolds on my favorite topic of Data-Driven Strategies to Grow Customer Loyalty. Here are a few key takeaways ✅ New loyalty programs will shift from traditional earn-and-burn models to more dynamic, personalized, and experiential approaches, focusing on: 🔆 Emotional connections: Building relationships and trust through shared values, experiences, and personalized interactions. 🔆Experiential rewards: Offering unique experiences, like exclusive events or early access, rather than just points or discounts. 🔆 Tierless systems: Moving away from rigid tier structures to more flexible, individualized recognition and rewards. 🔆 Real-time engagement: Encouraging ongoing interactions through mobile apps, social media, and other channels. 🔆Surprise and delight: Unexpectedly rewarding customers with exclusive offers or perks to foster loyalty and enthusiasm. 🔆Partnerships and collaborations: Partnering with other brands or organizations to expand offerings and enhance customer experiences. 🔆Social impact: Incorporating social responsibility initiatives, like charitable donations or sustainability efforts, to align with customer values. 🔆Data-driven personalization: Leveraging customer data and preferences to tailor rewards, offers, and experiences. 🔆Omnichannel consistency: Ensuring seamless experiences across all touchpoints and channels. 🔆Continuous evolution: Regularly updating and refining loyalty programs to stay relevant and engaging. These changes will help loyalty programs move beyond mere transactional relationships to more meaningful, human-centered connections, driving long-term customer loyalty and advocacy.
✅ Mobile Apps redefined the loyalty programs 15 years ago and AI will redefine once again the future of loyalty programs in various ways: 🔅 Personalization: AI enables businesses to analyze customer data and behavior, offering tailored rewards and promotions that cater to individual preferences and needs. 🔅Predictive Analytics: AI-powered loyalty programs can anticipate customer behavior and preferences, allowing businesses to proactively address customer needs and preferences. 🔅Gamification: AI-powered loyalty programs can incorporate gamification elements, such as badges, tiers, and challenges, making the experience more engaging and enjoyable for customers. 🔅Chatbots: AI-powered chatbots can provide immediate and personalized assistance, improving customer satisfaction and streamlining the loyalty program experience.

Google Pair is just one of a many post-cookie solutions Google and the rest of the adtech industry are pitching as browsers continue to phase out cookies, and advertisers and publishers look for ways to replace them. While some privacy sandbox proposals focus on targeting, Pair is aimed at reaching and retargeting audiences that advertisers already know about.
⏩ What happens to programmatic advertising when cookies are finally gone? ⏪ Chaos - More than three-quarters of programmatic ad spending goes to cookied inventory across various verticals. When third-party cookies are disabled, addressability will suffer and measurement infrastructures will be broken. In the long term, behavioral targeting outside of walled gardens will look different, but will still exist as long as it isn’t outlawed.
⏩ What are brands doing? Big or small ⏪
➡ They are investing heavily in first party data activation - BUT wait! Did you make sure that robust governance structure in place? Unorganized, out-of-date, non-privacy compliant, or otherwise poor-quality data is as good as no data at all. Don't forget the privacy laws and upcoming legislations in your specific region that will contribute to further signal loss ➡ On the buy side, smaller brands as well as larger brands will need to get comfortable with probabilistic IDs and contextual targeting while they continue to collect more first-party data. ➡ Most publishers both big and small cannot tie significant portions of their audiences to persistent identifiers. As a result, they must stay close to the changes at their most important advertising partners’ efforts to adapt to the end of third-party cookie support in Chrome: Which clean rooms are they using? Which nondeterministic IDs do they favor?
⏭ Now genAI adds more complexity to the puzzle of ad-targeting: ⏮ The bigger challenge around genAI and ad targeting will be if and how advertisers determine whether genAI had a role in creating the content that appears alongside an ad. But that’s likely to be a hard problem to solve. Recently, genAI-related scandals have hit few publishers, there is a real possibility that advertisers will decide that genAI-created content is brand-unsafe, or less valuable or desirable than content created by humans. #media #cookielessfuture #advertising #programmatic #genai Read more https://lnkd.in/dwsDKFrn
