Highlights
I am thrilled to announce that I joined Sony as Head of product for our Digital business - SonyLIV that brings the likes of Scam, Shark Tank and Rocket Boys to you.
We are all hearing about the Digital India movement and how this is India’s decade and I wanted to get in the middle of the action to play my part in it. If you haven’t had a chance, I’d strongly recommend reading the Indus Valley report (https://lnkd.in/g-E_Eunx) from Blume to understand India’s tech ecosystem.
With a population of 800 million smartphone users and highest data consumption, unfortunately top 3 apps are all made in America (Youtube, Whatsapp and FB/Insta). If we are going to be the digital nation, we aspire to be, we have to make in India for India.
I moved to India 2 years back from the US and after having worked at Google and Uber, I got the taste (read as addiction) of building consumer products that touch our daily lives.
This is what got me excited to join SonyLIV to have a shot at touching lives of millions of Indians because who doesn’t want a little escapism, downtime, laughter in their lives. I want to thank NP Singh, Danish Khan, Atul Sharma and entire team to give me a seat in the rocketship as its taking off.
Let’s go!
P.S. I know the times are tough outside with layoffs. We are hiring for bunch of roles. Please feel free to reach out to me if you are interested or just want to have a chat on Digital India.
