As a child of immigrants and a Marine Corps Veteran, this day means the world to me. It's not just another day to host a BBQ and spend time with friends and family, though I enjoy that as much as anyone else. It's a day that carries deep significance worth reflecting on and celebrating the birth and sustainment of our great nation that affords opportunity and equality for all.

I'm eternally grateful for the grace God has shown our country and the sacrifices of all those who served before me and all those who will continue to carry the mantle forward and preserve the ideals of our American founding. Happy 248th Birthday America!

Nearly 2 weeks ago I had the pleasure of attending the CORE Leadership Program at Deloitte University hosted by Deloitte's Social Impact Programs. I was able to meet and connect with many other impressive service members making the transition out of full-time military service and veterans at Deloitte who went above and beyond in helping us think deeply about our future goals, strengths, and how to translate our military experience to the corporate world.

I'm extremely grateful for having been given this opportunity to reflect, be challenged, and be inspired by the stories of others as they have had to redefine their careers and life stories. While I had always heard transitioning from the military was hard, I didn't truly understand until this past November when I left the gates of Camp Pendleton and made the permanent move to Florida. The past 6 months haven't been easy, but I truly believe this program can help any transitioning service member as they begin to plan and execute their exit.

While I'm indebted to all those who helped make this program a success, I want to thank Bahta Mekonnen for having told me about this opportunity in the first place and Brennan O. who served as my table coach sharing his wisdom as a veteran and pushing us to think deeply about the content presented!

If you are interested in learning more about the program, feel free to reach out and I'd be more than happy to share, otherwise if you'd like to check your eligibility or apply for the next cohort here's the link:
