Soon you'll be able to connect Mixpanel to tables in your data warehouse to automatically import data to Mixpanel as new data is added to your tables. This is a big deal because it opens up two possibilities. First, you can now get the most trusted data into Mixpanel. For example, if you have a copy of your user authentication table in your warehouse, you can use that for your signup events in Mixpanel. This is super important for maintaining a single source of truth for your metrics. Second, it opens up a whole world of possibilities in adding more kinds of data beyond just product usage to Mixpanel. Internally, we have all of our sales opportunity data, contract renewals, and NPS scores in Mixpanel pulled from our warehouse. I am a big believer that event analytics is better than the current solutions for just about any kind of analysis. There's a lot more to say about that, and we're just getting started on making more generalized event analytics work well in Mixpanel. Stay tuned!

I’m hiring a Staff Data Scientist or Senior Data Scientist for the analytics team at Mixpanel! There are a few reasons this is a particularly exciting opportunity.

  1. Impact: Our team’s work spans the entire company, from product to sales to marketing and beyond. But we are still a relatively new, small team. So this is a great chance to own analysis across a wide swath of a business, make a huge impact right away, and accelerate your career growth. And because Mixpanel is an analytics company, using data to make decisions is part of our DNA. Life is too short to spend time trying to convince skeptics to use data. In fact, we often collaborate with the product team to give feedback on proposed product features and pass along ideas of our own for new features.
  2. Innovation: Product analytics is at our core, and we are extending product analytics methods to the entire business. Sales and marketing are a part of product adoption and user retention just like the product team is. We look at the business holistically across all functional areas. No silos. We are using predictive models trained on features across all functional areas to spot problems and opportunities. We make sure every team is focused on the right metrics to make the best decisions. And we work with leadership across the company to optimize every aspect of our business for growth.
  3. People and Culture: The most common thing I hear from new hires at Mixpanel is that what convinced them to join us was the opportunity to work with the people they met here. I’ve never worked at a company with such a high concentration of seriously smart people who are also humble, kind, and ready to help wherever needed. We recently raised our series C round on the back of strong revenue growth, and the excitement and energy from people here to carry out our mission is palpable.
