We at Sound Agriculture were thrilled to host the Sound Grower & Dealer Advisory Councils last week at our lab and HQ in Emervyille, CA (pictured with some of the Sound team).

Thanks to Frischmeyer Brian, Brandon Hunnicutt, Kyle Mehmen, Michael Twining, Roric Paulman, Ryan Speer, Trey Hill and others for joining, along with Kasey Bryant and Janette Veazey-Post remotely! Hundreds of thousands of acres of farm management were represented and we received invaluable feedback on how to better position SOURCE to help growers be as efficient as possible with their crop nutrition plans, what future pipeline products to prioritize and how to further engage with the broader ag community. It's one of the many things that enable us stay close to our growers and partners throughout the year.

To close, I'll share a few of the quotes and takeaways from the Council:

  • Amazing to see how fast all the science is. Sound being able to map a genome and epigenome in days and develop new plant traits in months instead of years is mind blowing.

  • The unlock for growers is to incorporate SOURCE as a standard part of their fertility plan given how efficient and sustainable it is, and then other forms of fertilizer on top of it....not the other way around.

  • Incorporating all the new cost and risk share incentives to make it easier for growers to try products like SOURCE in lieu of 25 lbs of Nitrogen and Phosphorus will really get adoption to soar. Makes it a no brainer.

  • Hope for the future. So many smart, passionate, young people working on frontier technology that can change agriculture.

Thanks to all and look forward to next year!

I want to extend an official welcome to Sound Agriculture 's new CFO, Alex Lithwick. Alex has been on for a couple months now, bringing her experience in sustainability businesses, food marketplaces, consumer goods and private equity.

We are incredibly excited to have her on the team - and for Sound to be a big enough business to warrant a CFO for the first time ever!

Much more growth ahead, including some near-term expansion of our finance team under Alex's watch. Quality FP&A Managers interested in agtech and sustainable food production welcome to apply!
