When lockdown happened in 2020 a rarely-used Slack channel called (you guessed it) #metalheads really picked up steam. This is where I met some of the best folks I work with. Most of us aren't on the same team, we rarely, if ever, overlap in our work. We've only met in person...once? Briefly at a company offsite in 2019. But we decided that we needed a ritual to help alleviate the depression of lockdown.
Thus METAL MEETING was born. We use a collaborative playlist to add the best tracks we've found throughout the week, and at 2pm every Friday we hop on a zoom with shared audio and just...listen.
We've had two years of METAL MEETING now and it's a deeply important part of my workweek. At Greenhouse we all take the time to carve out space for our own unique needs (yes, I need metal).
