Highlights
As many of you know, I've spent the last few years working with Brian Knox to create Westgate Games with the focus of supporting developers throughout Asia in bringing their games to the West. We've achieved some incredible things as a team, including successfully building, launching, and supporting our first major product, Plus9, a marketplace and game platform centered around the developers, games, and players we'd hoped to support. Plus9 launched in early 2021, and since then we've teamed up with amazing developers and welcomed thousands of players to our community. Unfortunately, while Plus9 continued to grow, we were unable to make meaningful progress for our developer partners.
Despite the challenges facing Plus9, we've spent the last few months working behind the scenes with various developer partners to continue working towards our mission of bringing more games East-to-West. While we've forged some incredible relationships through this work, we've been unable to make major strides as a business and unfortunately, today marks the beginning of the shutdown of Westgate Games. As our journey comes to a close, I wanted to extend my heartfelt appreciation to all of our partners, players, and colleagues who have provided such meaningful support on this adventure. I can't begin to adequately express how very much your support has meant to me and it will never be forgotten.
Working with Brian Knox to build Westgate has been an experience I'll never forget, and while we weren't able to accomplish everything we set fourth to achieve, I can happily say I look back with zero regrets and fond memories of forging what I know will be a life long friendship. I truly hope we'll have the opportunity to work together again in the future.
It's been a challenging time filled with considerable retrospection and heavy hearts seeing everything we've built begin to wind down, but every ending marks a new beginning and I'm excited to say the next adventure is right around the corner.
While building Plus9, Westgate worked with what I firmly believe to be one of the strongest technical partners in the industry, AccelByte. AccelByte's platform and team were an indispensable asset that empowered us to bring our vision to life with the speed, quality, and stability that would have been virtually impossible to achieve on our own.
Throughout our partnership, I've greatly enjoyed working with the folks at AccelByte and I'm excited to announce that I've joined their Product Management team to assist in the continued evolution of their product and services. I'll have more news to share over the coming months as I continue to dig into the new role but I'm happy to say the future looks very bright.
Hey Everyone!
Thanks so much to those of you who reached out with candidate suggestions for our Product Manager position at Westgate Games.
I wanted to let everyone know we've now opened a second role for Technical Account Manager! If you or anyone you know would be a good fit, let us know!
