Adam Smith is a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in communications, public affairs, and diversity leadership.

Currently serving as the Chief Diversity Officer and Vice President of Communications and Public Affairs at Laureate Education, Inc., a global network of universities, Adam leads various communication initiatives while advocating for diversity and inclusion.

In his role, he oversees external, internal, crisis, and brand communications, working towards the company's commitment to operate as a B Corp and Public Benefit Corporation.

Adam's responsibilities include managing organizational culture, engagement efforts, and diversity and inclusion programs, requiring collaboration across multiple functions and effective team management globally.

With over six years at Laureate, Adam has previously held roles such as Executive Director of Corporate Social Responsibility in Miami and General Manager for Education and Corporate Affairs in Australia and New Zealand.

Prior to joining Laureate, Adam was involved in education-focused partnership development and coalition building in Australia as a speaker, facilitator, and consultant with various prominent organizations.

He has served as the Chief Executive Officer for both Education Foundation Australia and the Foundation for Young Australians, and has been actively engaged in education-related issues through various media platforms.

Adam has also contributed in non-executive board positions, including Chairman of the Australian Government's Family School Community Partnership Bureau and Board Member of organizations such as the Public Education Foundation and the Australian Council for Educational Research.

Committed to giving back, Adam volunteers as a mentor, facilitator, and advisor for numerous non-profits and social enterprises, particularly those supporting LGBTQ+ youth.
