Every challenge we had pre-pandemic, is now 10X.

The sooner society recognizes and takes action on this issue, the sooner we save ourselves.

You can boil down every issue below back to #COVID19 / #LongCOVID making it worse.

Education Healthcare Labor Economy Security

When you have a pandemic where the virus causes viral replication and post viral conditions resulting in #ChronicIllness and #Disability, death is not the key metric.

Death is obviously the paramount metric, but in this instance, not the most impactful. And hospitalizations value lies in being able to more accurately identify severe Long COVID down the line, but no real value.

In fact, the majority of damage is coming from every day infections. You get sick, it drags on for a few weeks or if it's bad, a month or so. Time passes, you think all is well after getting better or at least mostly better.

Then, out of nowhere... BOOM!

The damage from the initial infection and/or reinfections takes hold after destroying your body internally, invisibly, and you're now fucked.

Transmission is now higher than it's ever been for back to school which only ensure more spread. This was from a week ago...

Need more data... 807 results from PubMed: https://lnkd.in/dtRTam5E

We're debilitating the current and future generations at breakneck speed.

Remember saying to yourself in 2020, can't wait until 2021! And then in 2021, can't wait until 2022! And then in 2022, can't wait until 2023! And in 2023, can't wait until 2024!

See a pattern?

Shit is not getting better!

It's getting worse and compounding over time which equates to 10X results in a shorter timeline.

This is the HIV crisis 2.0, but with an airborne pathogen that cause ongoing vascular destruction.

What can you do?

  1. Wear a mask.
  2. Get vaccinated *I now prefer Novavax as an immunocompromised individual with autonomic dysfunction - hey, FDA quit delaying - the corruption is evident.
  3. Advocate for #IndoorAirQuality.
  4. Advocate for more funding, research, and treatments/testing for COVID and Long COVID.
  5. Use your pre-pandemic brain! *respect life for the gift it is and take smart precautions

End rant.

If you're familiar with #LongCOVID, the one thing to be crystal clear about is this...

One persons experiences is unique to them. This is not a streamlined post viral condition.

I'm not bedbound, just disabled. My disability is different from others. Some have LC and don't even realize it yet. Sounds weird, but when you consider LC impacts the brain by causing mass inflammation among other things, IQ drops with reinfections and frontal lobe brain damage is occurring.

Strokes, diabetes, early Alzheimers/dementia - all byproducts of how #COVID19 damages the body at a cellular level and through viral persistence, destroys your organs over time.

Many people share stories with me of others who had LC and got better. Some might, but that is fleeting. Reinfections almost certainly cause relapses. This is data backed.

And even with that being said, remember, just like how some people can eat whatever and not gain weight, not eat anything and can't lose weight, burn while out in the sun even with sunscreen, put on oil and get tan for years - everyone is different, but eventually time catches up and the damage from whatever you're fighting (known/unknown) will impact you, and it won't be the same as it does with me.

We have similarities at our core and on the surface, but as humans - we're uniquely different. And as humans, despite having the same biology, we're miraculous creatures with bodies that are unfathomably intricate, yet so beautifully simple.

Take care of your body the best you can, your body will return the favor.

Please don't project your experience either personal or anecdotal with those battling Long COVID. The best way to support is to listen. Thanks for doing so with this post if you made it this far 🙏
