I am thrilled to announce the focus of my career as a leadership and career coach, motivated by my deep-seated belief in the transformative power of coaching. For over 25 years I have built and led remarkable teams and individuals in communications, public relations, and marketing. During that time I observed the vital role that guidance, support, and strategic insight plays in career growth and leadership development. When coaching I tailor my approach to the unique needs of each individual, blending empathy with strategic thinking to foster meaningful and sustainable progress.

Let’s achieve great things.
For the past 15 weeks Gina Marie Urizar (Passaretti) and I have spent two hours every Wednesday evening with a cohort of six San Jose State University students as a Braven Leadership Coaches. To graduate from the program cohorts complete a Capstone Challenge, where as a project team, and using the design thinking methodology, they must develop a solution to a current, real-life problem posed by a real-life local company.
Last night was the culmination of this entire 15 week journey. Each cohort presented their research findings and solution to the Capstone Challenge Question in front of a panel of judges, including executives from the subject company.
I could not have been more proud of, and happy for this smart and hard working cohort. The quality of the solution, slide deck content and flow, and oral performance of the group during their presentation was as good and professional as I’ve witnessed anywhere. Kudos to Tazrian Islam, Jayden Wright, Zachary DeBuhr, Chiekezie Ezenekwe, Quintin F. and Jonathan Clark.
My role as a Braven Leadership Coach was to help this group of committed, engaged and motivated Fellows, find their voice, grow in confidence and self-belief, and be better prepared for their journey from student to graduate, and from academia to professional career. The goal is for each fellow to secure a strong, first job after graduation that respects, recognizes and rewards the dedication and hard work needed to earn a college degree.
In addition to the Capstone Challenge, during our 30 hours together we explored topics and worked on how to lead authentically, compile and tell their unique stories, and discover their individual career paths. Together, we also created tangible, essential job search assets such as resumes, cover letters, and online professional profiles; practiced networking and interviewing skills; and highlighted how career accelerating work experiences like internships enhance the chances of securing that all important strong first job.
Getting to know and work with this cohort has been a growth opportunity for me, and also one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had for a very long time.
