Adriano Iaria is a professional with a background in international law and contemporary challenges from the University of Florence. Currently serving as a Humanitarian Advocacy Officer at the Italian Red Cross in the field of Humanitarian Diplomacy.

Adriano collaborates as a lecturer and analyst with various Italian think tanks, focusing on ethical and legal implications of new technologies in international humanitarian law such as cyberspace and artificial intelligence.

With a keen interest in disarmament, international security, and new technologies, Adriano has contributed to research projects commissioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and published extensively in these areas.

He was selected as one of the 100 experts invited by the Vatican to discuss the legal, ethical, and social impacts of new technologies in alignment with the papal encyclical 'Laudato Sì'. Additionally, he was unanimously elected as the speaker of the I Commission on International Humanitarian Law during the 33rd International Conference of the Red Cross and Red Crescent.

Adriano is a member of prestigious organizations such as the International Society for Military Law and the Law of War and the Italian Society of Intelligence.

His diverse professional experience includes roles such as a Non-Resident Research Associate, International and Human Rights Law Officer, Faculty Member, Coordinator, Analyst, and Intern in various organizations and institutions.
