Highlights
Hi friends and colleagues! It’s been a long while since I’ve really checked in on this platform. I’m dipping my proverbial toe back into the social media sphere today because my org is doing some really important work I felt compelled to share with a wider audience.
For those of you who see corporate responsibility as an imperative part of your work, or are merely curious about what has me itching to put myself back out into the world of LinkedIn, please keep reading.
In the past year PBS Wisconsin’s education department has been partnering with multiple refugee resettlement agencies throughout the state to assemble and distribute backpacks (filled with enrichment and learning opportunities as well as a comfort item such as a plush toy or handmade quilt) to recently resettled refugee children from Afghanistan, Ukraine and other countries who are new to our communities.
The program is called Welcome Neighbor, and it needs more financial support to become a sustainable part of our ongoing work across the state.
I’m putting feelers out to folks in my network who might know a company interested in supporting this work & in turn receiving some unique donor recognition and benefits. If that sounds like something you’d like more information about (or if you know someone who might be interested), please feel free to comment here or pop into my DM’s to set up a time to chat about it more.
Alternately, if you’re simply interested in reconnecting or learning more about other initiatives and programs PBS Wisconsin or Wisconsin Public Radio is working on, I’d love to catch up!
This project is truly the tip of the iceburg when it comes to the vital work our education department is doing throughout the state, and I’d love an opportunity to tell the larger story if this specific project isn’t up your alley. STEM initiatives, media fluency, educator training… there is so much more to talk about!
I promise I won’t make you watch the Mr. Rodgers congressional testimony more than once/visit 😂
Hey Musictech friends and aficionados, check it out...
