Highlights
A few months ago, I delivered a brief Spark! Talk at the New Leaders Council 2020 Convention on the importance of leveraging and reforming the capital markets and the private sector to promote socioeconomic and racial equity.
My passion for topics at the nexus of finance, business, social impact, and equity has given me the opportunity to have meaningful conversations with a vast network of individuals and fill up Google Drive(s) with writings & presentations (some of which are my own), research & resources, and materials.
Whether it is a conversation about CDFIs, Opportunity Zones, and LIHTC/NMTC to devising a triple bottom line investment vehicle with a sustainably positive, non-extractive impact on distressed communities/communities of color to comparing Amazon's $2B affordable housing fund to the $1B fund by a consortium of housing nonprofits, the focus has been on having an all hands on deck approach to solving urgent crises and systemic inequities that are approaching points of no return.
This has inspired me to start KnowCap as a digital hub for exchange, incubation, and collaboration to address issues of socioeconomic equity through a lens of a sector that shapes our world faster than we now how to react. Looking forward to sharing more!
Honored to deliver a Spark! Talk this year at the New Leaders Council Convention at Home on a topic very dear to me: how the progressive movement can effectively leverage the private sector and capital markets to advance progress.
Excited to share the (virtual) stage with many phenomenal progressive leaders and personalities. With so much at stake, we all have an urgent mandate to for equitable and inclusive change in our economy, politics, and culture.
Check my talk out this Saturday, 8/8/20 at 1 PM EST! You can sign up to watch it and the convention from the comfort of your home: https://lnkd.in/g8QRsYX
