Highlights
It was a privilege to share Conception X's learnings from our work with researchers in 5 regions in the UK (through the Barclays Eagle Labs digital growth grant). Over the last 8 months, we have been working with universities across the UK to provide support, workshops and networking opportunities for researchers and academics interested in deep tech entrepreneurship.
On the panel, we discussed challenges faced by those based outside of London, and how we work deeply across several regions to build inter-regional networks that help more smart people commercialise their research faster, no matter where they are based. (Our current cohort has 106 teams from 29 universities).
The UK is such a fertile ground for researchers to launch a deeptech startup, but there's still so much more that can be done! The conclusion was (as often is) that it's all about whom you know and who can support you with £, so access to networks and funding.
