Highlights
I think it's unfair to take credit for something I didn't make, or write. AI did.
Using AI to write linkedin posts is not unethical. but i think it's not ethical either. and even if ethics aside, (apparently ethics are off the table now in many cases)
"Rewrite with AI" will make it "not" my post. no? at least not fully? will make AI a co-author ? an editor?
ChatGPT will not use my expressions, nor my style, or my tone of voice. even after training, GenAi content won't have any of my typos or my quirky way of expressing ideas.
I use GenAI a whole lot at work. it makes my job easier. and I make sure everybody I work with, aware of this fact, whenever I submit or share anything AI generated. I explicitly inform my team members. Again, I don't want to be praised for something I didn't create. or generate.
I take so much pride in my work. and in the craftsmanship behind everything I do. so much so, that I just can't take credit for an Ai-generated artwork. how come an artwork I thought of, sketched, and executed and I just used my shopping consumeristic skills to choose an option.
However, I thought alot about using AI to narrate content I've written. it will have a better accent with a more steady and clean voice, unlike my shaky squeaky voice in front of cheap sound equipments. But I backed down. it didn't feel human. what's the point then? Anyone who will listen, will feel the AI vibe. which is not my vibe.
As someone who have read more than a 1000 books in the last 15 years. I guarantee that any book worm out here can sniff AI generated posts miles away. and just like me. they won't appreciate it.
What bothers me the most is people who regularly post here, some of them rely heavily on AI. thinking it makes them look smarter, or that people won't notice. enjoying the dopamine rush from what also could be AI generated likes and comments.
there are here creatives, and speakers and copywriters who just willingly, and voluntarily surrendered their careers to AI. and brag about how viral their content went. the content they didn't write.
it bothers me so much that I wrote this as my first linkedin post since I joined 16 years ago.
at the end, what makes us human, is not how witty or articulate we are. what make us different - IMHO - is being able to use our hands and our languages and metaphors and colors and figure of speech in a way AI can not.
As geeky and nerdy as I like to think I am.. and all about early adopting new tech..
I don't wanna read an AI generated book (or ebook) I don't wanna watch AI generated movies. I don't want an algorithm to write a poem, or a novel. or even a linkedin post.
I always joke with my friends that these Gen AI content. is like impossible content. Beyond content. whole grain gluten free but full of Bullshit.
but this is just me. if you made it this far... enjoy this AI detecting tool : https://lnkd.in/dsbnWV8h
