Highlights
What a way to kick-start 2023.
My husband said two months ago let's finally go on that honeymoon oh and why not climb Kilimanjaro too while there. 🙈🙈
Not one to refuse a challenge , I said yes and now today I can say the rest is history.
We did it!!
We summited on 8th January 2023 after the hardest most difficult night of hiking of my life. 7 hours solid climbing up the final part of the mountain in the dark, with no sleep & very little oxygen.
At times I thought how did I agree to this...esp as part of my honeymoon... but what kept me going was the thought of my recently deceased uncle who died of MND in October. I know he would have given anything to be walking up Africa's highest mountain & the world highest standalone peak.
I think the experience has also provided me with some reflection time and perspective as I go into 2023 - so maybe it wasn't a bad idea after all.
I would highly recommend visiting #Body in Merrion Square as part of #scienceweek2022 - it's a real sensory experience & great way to learn about the human body. Children will love it!! It's on until Saturday. Tickets here https://lnkd.in/gDqMwq9j
Well done Science Foundation Ireland.... a really creative event.
