Highlights
Another high rise Fire in Dangenham as 2 people taken to hospital and over 100 residents evacuated.
Relieved that everyone hopefully got out safely and wish those in hospital a speedy recovery.
However this still highlights the momentous challenges faced with unsafe cladding, I would be interested to find out what mitigation was in place, did they have waking watch, temporary fire alarms, change of policy to simultaneous evacuation?
I fear this won't be the last but a great response by the FRS.
Saw this posted on someone else's feed, all this because of the failure to ensure the zone plan was correct and corresponded to the fire alarm and fire detection system zone text and ensuring the text descriptors were correct.
They evacuated the wrong part of the building.
So the owner has been fined a considerable amount of money but what about the maintenance provider, how was this not picked up and why wasn't it rectified, what's your excuse for not doing it or ensuring it was correct?
This is a stark reminder to everyone that a zone plan is not optional, you need one, it needs to correspond with how the system is zoned and that the text corresponds with the rooms or areas in which the devices are located.
It's not that hard and there is no excuse
