ActionIQ is hiring a Senior Engagement Manager, please reach out to me if interested.
For this blog post, I interviewed Akshata Mehta, a Strategic CSM at VMware, who helped redesign the CS onboarding process to make it more remote-friendly and focused on new hires. The team faced two main challenges: 1) bridging skill set gaps through onboarding and 2)address the emotional stress of remote onboarding.
To address these challenges, Akshata and her team implemented a four-phase onboarding program. This onboarding program was designed for continuous improvement, with feedback loops and iterations based on new hires' input. The ultimate goal was to make new hires feel at home within the company, fostering a sense of community, reducing isolation, and improving happiness and retention.
My hope is that this blog post encourages you to identify gaps in your own onboarding processes and suggests implementing similar changes to create a positive onboarding experience.
