How often do you feel annoyed, irritated, or bothered by something you did or didn’t do…

… something someone else did or didn’t do …

… something that just happened in your life?

If you are like most of us, you are often annoyed, irritated, or bothered by someone or something.

And it’s robbing you of peace of mind.

I don’t know about you but peace of mind is what I want more than anything.

Which is why I choose to accept almost every irritating annoying bothersome little thing that happens to me throughout the day.

In Alcoholics Anonymous, we are taught that “acceptance is the key”. It’s in the first line of the Serenity Prayer that is said at many AA meetings: “God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change…”

Here’s the problem: just saying we accept someone or something isn’t enough.

Because the negative feelings that non-acceptance generates impact not just our mood and ability to cope; they also impact our body because it generates the stress response.

Soooo…

If we really want to accept, it has to be in our mind AND body.

How to we do that?

By using an incredibly powerful technique that I learned this week of the beta test of the new and improved Positive Intelligence app-based program. It takes just 10 seconds.

First, you tense up your face and body (or if you are in public, tightly clench your fists) for a few seconds.

Next, you relax your muscles and say (out loud if possible): “I choose to accept.”

You may have to do that a couple of times to completely let go of the negative feelings and energy so you might have to do it a couple more times.

Try it for yourself then share your experience with me.
