Ajay Pillai

Electrophysiology Fellow at VCU Health

Ajay Pillai is an ambitious electrophysiologist who is dedicated to leveraging technology to enhance healthcare outcomes. He achieved the distinction of being the youngest graduate from the University System of Georgia and went on to obtain a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the Medical College of Georgia. Currently, he is undergoing specialized training as a fellow in clinical cardiac electrophysiology at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Ajay's academic pursuits include a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of West Georgia and his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the Medical College of Georgia. His professional journey has seen him serve in various roles, starting as an undergraduate research assistant at the Department of Biology at the University of West Georgia, followed by positions such as Medical Student Research Assistant at prestigious institutions like the Cole Eye Institute at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, the Vision Discovery Institute at the Medical College of Georgia, and Eyesight Associates of Middle Georgia. Prior to his current fellowship, he held the positions of Chief Medical Resident and Cardiovascular Disease Fellow at VCU Health, further demonstrating his commitment to cardiovascular care.

Ajay's diverse experience also includes roles outside of medicine, such as his time as a Clinical Research Analyst at LENSAR Inc. and as an Operative Room Technician & Clinical Intake Specialist at Eyesight Associates of Middle Georgia. This broad experience highlights his versatile skill set and adaptability across various healthcare settings and roles.
