Great news frens: the first company I founded has now been acquired!
Ten years ago, I worked with leading AI thinker Richard Mallah to invent a way to use AI to improve content for search (SEO). This led to a patent: https://t.co/t0jifiLMX4
I built this into an initial prototype, and @jeffrey_coyle (one of the best SEOs in the world) joined me to build the technology into a company.
In 2015, I coined the term "Topical Authority" to describe our philosophy. Instead of gaming SEO, we focused on making content better. Our system helped writers add more relevant details, improving readability, conversions and search engine ranking.
Over the coming years, Topical Authority became the industry-leading way to increase SEO ranking. It was proven out time and again in meta-studies performed by Brian Dean, Neal Patel and other thought leaders.
By 2019, the entire industry had adopted our invention. We optimized content for CBS Interactive, Home Depot, IBM and over 200 brands.
We subsequently raised over $10Mn to grow the business. We branched into LLMs, building an early version of ChatGPT in 2020, years before OpenAI's founding.
In 2021, I left MarketMuse, wanting to create a new product in a new industry. This eventually turned into @dlcBTC , which is now transforming Bitcoin by enabling financial institutions to safely earn yields through DeFi.
It's amazing to be a product builder, to see new technology change an industry. Although we work tirelessly, it's amazing to make a permanent impact on millions of people's lives.
I'm proud to see @jeffrey_coyle, @marketmuseCAF and the team at MarketMuse recognized with this acquisition. Congratulations to both teams!
Proud to be featured on FinTech TV at NYSE for the second time in a month!

I’m an engineer, not a financial analyst. But it’s clear that a safe design for Bitcoin in DeFi has major financial (and now political) implications for the US and globally
