Recently, I explained what I do as a product manager as "risk management." The difference between a launch and a flop is usually just 100 tiny decisions we test with our users. I often run into this when an internal team (sales) brings urgent new features complete with UX mock-ups in Powerpoint, and I don’t even have direct access to those customers. It’s important to get a reality check from those stakeholders, to reduce the risk of a one-off.
