Alan Noble

Founder, AusOcean

Alan Noble is a seasoned serial entrepreneur and executive with over 30 years of experience in technology leadership and management. He is deeply passionate about leveraging technology to contribute to the preservation of our oceans, which led him to found AusOcean in 2017. Alan is also an enthusiastic sailor and actively engages in water sports.

Alan pursued his academic journey by earning an MS in Computer Science/AI from Stanford University and a BE (First Class Honors) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Adelaide.

Throughout his career, Alan has been associated with various notable organizations in different capacities, including serving as a Co-founder at The Koala Sanctuary, Founder at AusOcean, Board Director at the South Australian Museum, and Advisor to the Chief Scientist of Australia. He has also been a part of StartupAUS as a Co-founder and Director and served as an Advisor to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC). Alan's roles have been diverse, ranging from being a Member of the Australian Government 2.0 Taskforce to holding positions such as Board Director at AIIA and Engineering Director at Google Australia.

Moreover, Alan has played pivotal roles in numerous tech companies, including being the Co-founder of SA Angels, Co-founder and CEO of NetPriva, CTO of Foursticks, VP of Engineering at Pumatech, and Co-founder and VP of Engineering at NetMind Technologies. He has also enriched his professional experience by serving as a Lecturer at the University of California, Santa Cruz, and as an Engineering Manager at Schlumberger.
