Alana Livesey is a seasoned advisor and expert with a wealth of experience in gender equality, child and youth participatory approaches, international development, and urban development.

With an impressive 15-year career, Alana has worked at prestigious organizations such as Plan International, UN Women, UNICEF, UNESCO INRULED, Save the Children, and Amref Health Africa, where she has honed her skills and expertise.

Alana holds a Master's degree in Development Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London. She also pursued Development Studies and International Relations as a Non-Degree Student at the University of Toronto and completed her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminology, History, and English at the same institution.

Throughout her career, Alana has held key roles such as Senior Advisor for Gender Equality at Plan International Canada, Gender Equality Advisor at Save the Children Canada, and Gender Equality Strategy Consultant at Amref Health Africa in Canada.

Alana's vast experience includes positions such as Gender Equality Consultant at UNICEF China, Adolescent Girls Advisor and Consultant at UNICEF China, and Gender Technical Specialist at Plan International.

She has also served as a Gender Equality Consultant for Women’s Political Participation at UN Women China, Global Programme Manager for Safer Cities for Girls at Plan International, Gender Equality Consultant at UNESCO INRULED, and Gender Researcher and Because I am a Girl Campaign Officer at Plan International.

Furthermore, Alana has contributed her expertise in various roles including Graduate Programme Internship at UN Women China, Advocacy Assistant at Plan UK, Corporate Development Officer at UNICEF Canada, Secretary of the Board of Directors at Peace by PEACE (Canada), and Corporate Development & Community Partnerships Coordinator at UNICEF Canada.

Her diverse background also includes roles such as Volunteer Trip Facilitator & Marketing Assistant at Free The Children, English Teacher & Tutor at Language and Culture Teaching and Research Centre, and Legal Assistant at Kagan Shastri, Barristers & Solicitors.
