Partnerships - Social impact - Entrepreneurship - Big ideas

Alanna Imbach is a dynamic entrepreneur and social activist dedicated to fostering authentic, purpose-driven communities through innovation and collaboration. As the founder of Vibe Coworks, the largest shared workspace and coworking community in the West Sound region, she focuses on creating productive environments where individuals can connect, collaborate, and pursue their passions.

Alanna's journey began at the young age of 21 when she took on the role of social worker in Madrid, Spain, amidst the West African ‘boat people crisis.’ Her commitment to making a global impact in migration policy propelled her to Geneva, Switzerland, where she started speaking at the United Nations by the age of 23. Over the next 13 years, she gained invaluable experience living and working across continents, including Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas, engaging with critical issues such as migration, refugees, global health, water, sanitation, and women's rights.

Throughout her career, Alanna has held key positions in global policy, advocacy, public relations, and media strategy with esteemed organizations including the UN Refugee Agency, UN World Food Programme, International Catholic Migration Commission, and WaterAid. Her work has not only demonstrated a robust capacity for securing extensive media coverage in outlets like BBC, CNN, NPR, Newsweek, and New York Times, but it has also inspired her passion for social impact through cross-sector collaborations that engage government entities, private sectors, and grassroots community groups.

In 2017, Alanna embarked on a significant life change, moving 2,800 miles cross-country with her two-year-old twin daughters to establish Vibe Coworks in Poulsbo, Washington. Emphasizing the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to work in a place they love, Vibe Coworks has become a vibrant hub for local entrepreneurs and freelancers.

Her efforts have not gone unnoticed. Vibe Coworks was awarded the Emerging Business of the Year by the Poulsbo Chamber of Commerce in 2017, with Alanna herself receiving the Young Leader of the Year award in 2018. In 2019, Vibe Coworks was recognized as the Best Meeting Place in North Kitsap by the Best of Kitsap Awards. Recently, she has been acknowledged as one of the 20 Under 40 Honorees by Leadership Kitsap.

Recognized for her strategic thinking and ability to foster collaborative relationships that yield creative solutions, Alanna remains active in consulting for WaterAid, the premier international nonprofit dedicated to empowering communities through access to clean water, sanitation, and menstrual hygiene education. As she continues to nurture the growth of Vibe Coworks, she also engages in various initiatives that reflect her commitment to social entrepreneurship and community development.
