How to get clients without experience, credentials, or connections:

(and without cold calling or spamming cold DM's on instagram)

Righteous Outreach.

Righteous outreach = personalized, relevant, valuable, and thoughtful emails.

I see dozens of outreach messages a week from people trying to sell services.

99% of them are trash, because most people don't understand how to do outreach.

"Hey man want to hop on a call?"

"yooooo Alastair"

"Hey, curious, but what if I could show you a [INSERT THING TOTALLY IRRELEVANT TO ME]. What would that do for your business?"

As if I'm going to read those and go "omg yea sure I love getting on a call with zero context whatsoever"

When everyone is playing for volume, you play for quality.

Make it personalized. Make it valuable. Make it righteous.

Of course, this takes way more time.

But would you rather get a client from sending 500 emails... or 5?

When you do outreach correctly, every outreach looks different.

Because it's customized to the prospect's business context.

Compare something like "Hey, I can get you more sales, hire me!"

To...

"Hey I signed up for your email list, I love the website, however I noticed that you didn't have a welcome sequence configured. I think this could help build a stronger relationship with new subscribers, drive them towards your flagship offer, and ultimately increase your revenue."

This shows you actually did your research to identify their specific business context, problems, and solutions.

Do NOT send 500 copy and paste emails and DMs.

For a freelancer or job hunter...

You realistically only need a FEW select opportunities to hit your goals.

You're not trying to fill $5M in pipeline for a 100+ employee company.

For you, a lot of conventional rules around email don't apply.

Cold email for the clever freelancer should be outrageously personalized, elaborate, and even a little eccentric.

And my complete start-to-finish guide on my own approach is launching soon.

Stay tuned, and hop on the email list if you want to join the waitlist.
