Alejo Estebecorena

Alejo Estebecorena is a renowned designer with a rich background in interdisciplinary design. In 1992, he established an interdisciplinary design studio in Buenos Aires, which later evolved into the HEDS Design estudio. In 2001, he co-founded HE Hermanos Estebecorena, a men's clothing brand. The design studio has received numerous national, regional, and international awards and distinctions. With offices in Vancouver, San Francisco, and Buenos Aires, the studio's work has been featured in global media and exhibited in over 20 countries, including prestigious institutions like the MOMA in New York and the Malba in Buenos Aires. Notable figures like Bono, Gustavo Cerati, and Gustavo Santaolalla have worn HE's designs. Alejo is also a respected judge in academic and professional design competitions in Argentina and the region. Currently, his design studio specializes in strategic design consulting, particularly in IoT technologies, collaborating with local and international industries and even public administrations. He views design as a strategic area for all businesses and considers design thinking a universal concept applicable beyond the design field. Alejo's teaching career spans over a decade at FADU UBA and as a founding member of the Design Faculty at UNAM, where he taught Morphology and Industrial Design. He was instrumental in developing a unique design program at the University of San Andrés. He continues to share his expertise as a guest lecturer in business schools. In the realm of research, Alejo has engaged in heuristic research at FADU/UBA, contributing to various UBACyT projects. He has worked on Open Source projects, 3D printing, robotics, and software development. Presently, his research focuses on building sustainable ecosystems.
