Alessandro Toffoli is a highly experienced professional in the field of ocean and coastal engineering with expertise in physical oceanography and air-sea interactions. He has a diverse background in research, teaching, and consultancy roles across various prestigious universities and industry settings.

Dr. Toffoli holds a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Turin (Italy) and completed his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at the KU Leuven (Belgium). His career journey includes impactful positions such as working in the shipping industry at DNVGL in Norway before transitioning to academic roles.

His academic career commenced at Swinburne University of Technology (Australia) in 2009 as a Research Fellow. Subsequently, in 2012, Dr. Toffoli undertook the role of Reader in Coastal Engineering at Plymouth University (UK) before returning to Swinburne as an Associate Professor in Maritime Engineering in 2013. Currently, he serves as an Associate Professor in Ocean Engineering at the esteemed University of Melbourne and holds the title of Visiting Professor at KU Leuven (Belgium).
