Founders should delay giving Director-level titles and above (VP, SVP) as much as possible. Simple org charts in the early days save for frustration and title parade.
Title parade happens in orgs with complex charts where senior employees derive more motivation from titles than their impact. Primary goal becomes to “make Director” or “make VP”. Then it's impossible to untitle without making the org chart more complex or letting them go.
Better to keep things lean initially with people managers as Leads and ICs w/ descriptive job titles. No fancy titles to aspire to, less politics, no need to untitle.
