Last night, I attended the Time exhibition by Rone (if you haven't been, do yourself a favour and go. It's incredible).

I was fortunate to find the artist in residence, so I took the opportunity to conduct a mini interview (alongside his official one for Channel 10 πŸ˜‚) and learned about his intent, methods and inspiration.

As we were talking, it reminded me how important it is to take time away from my usual world of tech and immerse myself in art - the being curious about the story, the message, how it makes you feel and how it makes you think differently about your every day; to be more creative in problem solving and more evocative and innovative in story telling and communicating in general.

Most mornings these days, I get up at 5 ⏰ and ride about 25km πŸš΄β€β™€οΈ , get ready for work πŸ’», and then head down to my favourite place to be in the world (the beach πŸ–οΈ!) with a coffee β˜•οΈβ€¦and just sit and look at the beautiful ocean 🌊, the sky, the birds 🐦, the people having a quick splash πŸŠβ€β™€οΈ , the walkers πŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ ambling by...

This being still, mindful, calm and present is a practice (which those who know me know can be hard for me πŸ˜†) that allows me to relax, switch my brain off and give my parasympathetic nervous system a break…while also being an incredibly powerful way to start the day, to prepare, to refine direction, to remember what I am grateful for.

So that then I am then able to bring my best self back to my family and my work πŸ₯°πŸ’ͺπŸ’₯
