Alex Matthews is a data reporter specializing in health care politics and policy. He holds a Master's degree in journalism and public health from UC Berkeley with a focus on health policy and management. Alex is also a graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from UC Berkeley and has studied as a visiting student in Sociology at The University of Edinburgh.

Alex has also served as a Group Exercise Instructor at YMCA of San Francisco, a Youth Development Worker with the Peace Corps, and a Mentor at CollegeSpring.
