Highlights
I had a great time at Hello Tomorrow in Paris last week pitching Cascade Biocatalysts as one of the finalists in the Industrial Biotech track. While we did not end up winning, I was able to meet and learn from so many innovators across the global deep tech ecosystem. Plus the Hello Tomorrow team knows how to put on a show, just look at some of the stages they created to showcase all the startup talent.

I'm thrilled to share that Cascade Biocatalysts has successfully closed our pre-seed round, raising $2.6 million to catalyze greener chemical manufacturing with the power of enzymes. Thank you to the whole community for the support we've received, we are here because of you.
First and foremost, a huge shoutout to Ben Patterson and Daniel Ramirez from Ten VC for leading the round. Their belief in our vision was foundational to the success of our fundraise. A big thank you to Amplify.LA, Boost VC, Range Ventures, Spacecadet, and the Cool Climate Collective for joining our team, as well as to our earliest angel investors, many of which are my close friends who took a big bet on me. And of course, thank you to James Weltz for being an incredible partner over this period and giving me the opportunity to commercialize his groundbreaking Body Armor for Enzymes technology.
Over the past decade, the bioeconomy has had its ups and downs, massive failures and occasional successes. I rode the rollercoaster at Zymergen for four years and witnessed the challenges it has faced. I still believe more strongly than ever in this emerging industry. Nature is the world's greatest chemical manufacturer and thanks to advances in biotech we can understand how the living world operates better than ever before. The biorevolution will be greener, more economical and inevitable.
In nine months at Cascade, we've weathered literal storms – our lab surviving lightning strikes and tornadoes – and metaphorical ones, too. In that time, we've achieved remarkable milestones, from delivering our first product to expanding our team and accomplishing incredible results for our partners, extending enzyme lifespans in higher temperatures and various solvents. This is just the beginning.
We're on the cusp of something truly transformative, where the power of biology converges with industrial manufacturing. Together, we're accelerating the biorevolution and forging the path towards an Enzymatic Future. I invite you all to follow along with us on this ride as we shape the future of sustainable chemical manufacturing. 🧬🌎 https://lnkd.in/eSMQWB4M
