Alex Shtarkman is a commercially-minded early-stage Venture Capitalist with a strong focus on fundamentals and a background in operating, restructuring, turnaround, and M&A. His expertise lies in the fields of proptech, consumer/marketplace, and SMB/enterprise software verticals.

He started his career as an Investment Banking Analyst at Raymond James, later advancing to an Investment Banking Associate role at the same firm. Alex is a proud alumnus of The Johns Hopkins University, where he studied International Studies with minors in Economics and Entrepreneurship and Management. He furthered his education at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), obtaining a Master's Degree in International Finance and International Law & Organizations.

Throughout his career, Alex Shtarkman has been involved with numerous organizations in various capacities. He has served as a Board Observer for companies like Wagmo, Sila, GoodBuy Gear, HPNG, and more. Additionally, he has been a Founding Advisory Board Member at Endeavor, a Startup Mentor at Techstars Equitech Accelerator and UpSurge Baltimore, and a Council Member for the Innovation and Technology Council at the Urban Land Institute.

His extensive involvement in the startup ecosystem includes roles such as Vice President, Ventures at Revolution, Founding Board Member at the Center for Real Estate Technology & Innovation, and Leadership Board member at CREtech. Alex has also mentored startups at programs like Techstars Equitech Accelerator and has been a Student Mentor at Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures (JHTV).
