Alex Simon (she/her) is a Director of the Media Portfolio at Emerson Collective.2 In this role, she develops new partnerships and provides support to Emerson Collective's existing media grants and investments.2 Her official title is Director, Media Portfolio and Storytelling Partnerships.13
Prior to joining Emerson Collective, Alex worked at Creative Artists Agency in the motion picture talent department and helped start CAA's virtual and augmented reality unit.2 She has experience in filmmaking, having directed, produced, shot, and edited films that have screened in film festivals across the United States and abroad.2
Alex is a graduate of Stanford University, where she received the Chappell Lougee scholarship and served as a teaching assistant in the graduate journalism program.2 She also worked on sexual violence education, prevention, and response during her time at Stanford.2
Currently based in Los Angeles, Alex has recently served on the feature nominating committee for the IDA Documentary Awards.2
