Alexander Kim

Alexander Kim is an accomplished individual with a diverse educational background, ranging from molecular and cell biology to medical science and public health. He pursued his Bachelor of Arts in Molecular and Cell Biology (Honors) & Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley, followed by a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Medical Science at the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute, and later an MD-PhD Candidate at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. Prior to his tertiary education, Alexander attended Oak Park High School.

Throughout his academic journey, Alexander Kim engaged in various roles and affiliations, demonstrating his commitment to research, academia, and community service. He served as a Research Assistant, Scholar under the Gates Cambridge program, MPhil Candidate, and Editor In Chief at the Cancer Research UK Cambridge Institute. Additionally, he was involved in editorial roles at Morning Sign Out, a campus organization where he also held leadership positions such as Section Editor, Campus Organizations Council Publications Team Lead, and Staff Writer. At the University of California, Berkeley, he dedicated his time as a PAWS Volunteer, Copy Editor, and Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Raulet Lab. Outside academia, he extended his service as a Volunteer at the Alameda Health System and participated in the Health and Medical Apprenticeship Program at the Kinship Youth Program.

To further diversify his experiences, Alexander Kim ventured into multimedia content creation through YouTube, showcasing his passion for disseminating information. He also explored the field of clinical research as a Summer Student Research Intern at the Huntington Medical Research Institutes and a Clinical Research Volunteer in the Community to Clinic Research Program at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. His leadership skills were evident in his roles as a Leadership Links Ambassador at the American Junior Golf Association and a Head Coach/Mentor at the United States Golf Little League (USGLL).
