Highlights
For my (long overdue) first LinkedIn post, I wanted to share something exciting that I’ve tried my best to keep secret over the last three months.
On Friday, July 5, I will be appearing on Jeopardy!, the iconic trivia game show. The show will air at 7pm on ABC in the NYC area (a perfect intermission between the Euros and Copa América quarterfinals that day). You can visit jeopardy.com/watch to see when and on which channel it airs in your area.
When I took the online test in 2022, I had no idea if I did well enough to qualify. Two rounds of auditions and more than two years later, I received a call out of the blue that I would be appearing on the show.
Last month, I traveled to the Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California, for the taping of the show. I had the incredible honor and privilege of meeting Jeopardy! legend and host Ken Jennings and competing on the Alex Trebek stage. I also loved meeting the other contestants who were all passionate about trivia. The whole experience was surreal, and it still hasn’t sunk in yet that I will be appearing in front of millions of viewers on national television.
Anyone who knows me well knows that I accumulate random tidbits of knowledge, which is probably my only party trick. When I was younger, I used to watch Jeopardy! every night, so it is beyond amazing to fulfill a childhood dream of mine of appearing on the show. From Brain Busters in middle school to Quizbowl in high school, I have always loved trivia and learning different things. In preparation for my Jeopardy! appearance, I memorized 200 world capitals and all the US presidents in order, among other assorted facts. This has refreshed my desire to continue learning about various subjects and to apply that knowledge in my everyday life.
Please tune in on July 5 if you are able to, and enjoy the show!
