Alice Chen is the founder of Wayfinding Wisdom, an executive coach, and learning designer based in Asheville, NC.13 With over a decade of experience, she supports diverse leaders in government, technology, business, philanthropy, and non-profit sectors to develop more artful, sustainable, and inclusive approaches to leadership.1
Alice's coaching approach is holistic, considering how history, identity, and power shape our responses to the world. She helps clients access their agency, make sense of their challenges, and act towards their aspirations within larger systemic dynamics.1 Her work draws inspiration from modern psychology, neuroscience, adult learning & development, emergent strategy, appreciative inquiry, somatics, mutual aid, regenerative economics, and various wisdom traditions.1
Before founding Wayfinding Wisdom, Alice began her career as an elementary school teacher in Hawai'i and has since held various roles, including grant writer, community organizer, arts coordinator, and leadership development director.1 She holds an undergraduate degree from Wellesley College, a master's degree in education from the University of Hawai'i, and a Professional Coaching Certification (PCC).1
Alice is passionate about helping people navigate the complexities of modern life, reconnect with their inner wisdom, and create more meaningful, joyful, and impactful lives.24 She works with leaders who have reached inflection points in their lives and careers, helping them develop the mindsets, skills, clarity, and confidence needed to navigate uncharted waters.2
Outside of her professional life, Alice is an avid knitter, sewist, certified yoga and mindfulness teacher, and enjoys outdoor activities like whitewater chasing with her husband and two dogs.1
