Really excited to continue sharing the stories of outdoor stewards like cancer survivor & paraclimber Kareemah Batts who is featured in adidas TERREX's #UnitedbySummits campaign.
In 2012, Kareemah founded the Adaptive Climbing Group after falling in love with the sport post-leg amputation that was caused by cancer. The incredible community she has built aims to make climbing more accessible for people with varying physical abilities. It has also become the largest climbing program for that community in the US–amazing feat!
Had the pleasure of meeting Kareemah at this year's Outdoor Retailer in Denver a few months ago (thx Whitney) but wasn't aware of her story or background until working on this campaign. Incredibly inspirational!
Honored to help tell her story alongside BIPOC collective Camp Yoshi's Rashad Frazier in this Black Enterprise Magazine interview. Read about how they were involved with the campaign, their inspirations and goals.
Shout to Atiya Kia for making it happen.

I'm an outdoor enthusiast–avid hiker, cyclist, runner and any activity that involves increasing my heart rate in natural environments. I'm lucky to live in a city where nature is accessible, where I feel safe to explore.
This is why I'm so excited and honored (via Pitchblend) to help spread the word of adidas TERREX's #UnitedbySummits campaign and the stories from its amazing partners who are making the outdoors more accessible and inclusive for everyone of all backgrounds, a core value for the brand's outdoor arm.
One of those partners is BIPOC collective Camp Yoshi and its co-founder Rashad Frazier who aims to "demystify the outdoors" for people of color. They're doing amazing work in providing unforgettable experiences in the great outdoors for diverse communities while educating on how to explore sustainably. Read all about it in FUTUREVVORLD.
This was a super fun interview to facilitate. Thanks to the amazing Mariana Martínez Barba Bob Marshall for making it happen. Excited to work on more stories with you both!
