I’m calling today my first day back at ‘work’.
My little boy has just been dropped at nursery, husband and dog are both in the office and it’s the first day in 12 months that I am going to sit down at a desk and do some strategic planning.
I’ve been leaning into my creative side over the past year and I’m relishing it so far. Personal highlights include, some lovely local interior and garden design projects, growing my interior account on socials, continuing to learn and develop my dress making skills and even launching a small batch bakery business (check it out below).
But I also want to continue to expand my leadership, marketing and operational experience - so my agenda today is brainstorming. Giving myself time and space to start thinking about how I can use my skills and experience to continue in a career that encompasses my passions.
First things first, gotta get out and tick my half-marathon training run off the list. 9km around the Norfolk marshes to set up the week.
Twelve years ago this summer, I found myself fresh out of an internship in Parliament, heading off to work at the London Olympics, and contemplating my next steps. Fate, in the form of Barney Phillips introduced me to Rob Morley and Rebecca Lewis Smith marking the beginning of a truly brilliant journey.
After a wonderful (and sometimes testing) year of maternity leave, I’ve had time to reflect on my passions and what’s truly important to me. As a result, I’ve decided to leave Fountain in pursuit of a new challenge.
I’ve made some brilliant memories at Fountain as well as life long friends and even a husband so this really is the end of an era. I am immensely grateful to Rebecca, Laura Jennings Rob, and Marcus Hemsley for believing in me and for everything they’ve taught me over the past 12 years. I wish them and all of my brilliant Fountain colleagues continued success in the future.
I’m currently exploring new opportunities and deciding what my next chapter will look like - and chasing my 11 month old round countless parks. If you know of any opportunities I’d love to connect.
