Each International Women's Day, I get tired of reading that women don’t negotiate as much or as successfully as men do. Often applied to salary negotiations and pay differences, the narrative usually lacks nuance and is devoid of practical advice.
While there’s no ‘best way’ to approach a negotiation, there are a hoard of useful tactics. Every time I encounter a great negotiator, I learn something new from their approach. I use these lessons daily to help me in the conversations that form the meatiest and most important part of my role at Snoop. I wrote this article to share some of them, and I hope you find it useful.
Shout out to sounding boards Alar Cartan Emma Martinho-Truswell Sarah Paul Cassandra Sullivan and especially Chelsea Phipps, my much-needed editor.
