Alison Bagby is the Director of Operations and co-owner of Millennium, an upscale plant-based restaurant located in Oakland, California.12 She joined Millennium in January 2007 as Assistant General Manager after responding persistently to a Craigslist ad.2 In February 2015, Bagby became a partner in the restaurant's new East Bay location, forming a new LLC with Chef Eric Tucker when the San Francisco location closed and the principal owners retired.2

Before joining Millennium, Bagby worked in upscale vegan restaurants in Portland, Oregon, and Los Angeles.1 She has a background in psychology and music, and initially did not intend to make a career in the restaurant industry.2 However, she found that she excelled in restaurant work and enjoyed it, particularly because it allowed her to contribute to animal welfare and environmental protection.2

Bagby played a crucial role in Millennium's relocation from San Francisco to Oakland in 2015. She helped organize a successful Kickstarter campaign that reached its $50,000 goal in just two days and more than doubled it by the end of the 30-day period.2 She also managed various aspects of the relocation process, including forming a new business entity, writing a business plan, finding investors, and securing necessary permits.2

Under Bagby's co-ownership, Millennium continues to be known for its globally inspired cuisine, commitment to using local, sustainable, and organic produce, and its appeal to both vegans and omnivores.12
