Alison Nankivell

Senior Vice President, Funds and Global Scaling at BDC Capital

Alison Nankivell is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in the Canadian and Asian business sectors.

She began her career as a China economic analyst and editor in Hong Kong and Beijing, working with the Economist Intelligence Unit and various multilateral agencies.

Alison later joined Export Development Canada (EDC) in 1998 and held positions including Chief Representative for Greater China and Head of Funds, where she played a significant role in building EDC's venture capital and Asia fund investment platform.

In 2012, she transitioned to Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan as Director of Funds, Asia, before moving to the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) in 2013.

At BDC, Alison served as Vice President leading the Venture Capital Action Plan (VCAP) and later took on roles in co-investments, government initiatives, and overall funds management within BDC Capital.

Alison Nankivell holds a B.A. in Commerce and Economics from the University of Toronto and an MScEcon in Public Policy and Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designee.
