Highlights
This week started with someone else's smile putting a spring in my step, and it is finishing with some lovely feedback from one of my clients that has filled my cup with happiness as I head into the weekend.
This is what she said at the end of her coaching session:
"Out of all the people I have seen over the years for different types of therapy and coaching, you are the only one I feel does it from your heart."
To know that comes across and is felt by my clients is the best type of feedback I could receive and it fuels my motivation and drive to continue on this exciting path I chose to take a few years ago.
What feedback have you received that sent your motivation sky high?
What is the best age to have coaching?
I was in my forties when I first invested in me and booked some coaching sessions. It felt like the perfect age to do this, I had life experience both personally and professionally and I felt like I was at a bit of a crossroads in my life.
When my studying to be a coach began I had to find clients who were happy to be coached by me as a student in training. The advice was to coach fellow students and non-students of varying backgrounds in order to experience a good selection of peoples coaching needs. I coached students, friends, friends of friends and professional acquaintances.
One of my training clients was entering retirement and wanted a sense of direction and purpose as she began this new chapter. After her coaching sessions she gave me her testimonial which said, "Coaching helped me to recognise areas important to me that I had not considered in any depth before. This proved useful in bringing balance into my everyday life, which is what I was striving for."
This is where my mind was opened up to how coaching could benefit any age group and that it is not just mid-life where we sometimes seek clarity, change and new perspectives.
My youngest client is 18 and about to head off to university and wanted to overcome an emotion that she felt might impact her ability to enjoy and make the most of her higher education experience. She left her sessions with such a positive attitude, saying she was feeling like the tallest sunflower in the field, the one everyone notices.
My oldest client is 83. She came to my stand at a Mind, Body & Spirit Fayre and asked me if she was too old to have some coaching. Of course, I said no and we booked in some sessions. She is now reigniting her creative side and is also involved in some recreational activity that she had once had a huge passion for.
So I return to that question - What is the best age to have coaching?
My answer is, absolutely any age because how fantastic is it to overcome an emotion that could potentially hold you back for many future years of your life, and how amazing to rekindle passion and skills from your past that keep you smiling into the wonderful years you still have to live.
I am so passionate about supporting anyone of any age who believes coaching may benefit them in moving forwards positively at whatever stage of life they are at.
Who do you know of any age that could benefit from coaching?
