Alistair Grant is a musicologist, audiophile, and discophile. He's also a vintage vinyl record dealer based in Dundee, Scotland, and El Paso, Texas, USA. After retiring from his corporate life as a senior executive with 30 years of experience in global procurement and supply chain at UK Board, European and global levels, Grant now focuses on his interests in music and vinyl records. Before contributing to the music industry, Grant earned a BA in social sciences, an MBA in finance, marketing, and operations management, and an executive leadership program from the University of Edinburgh, Harvard Business School, and Northumbria University, respectively.
Grant is the owner of Radical Independent Music Limited and has been an equity punk at BrewDog, the head of UK procurement at the HEINEKEN Company, the director of global category management in renewables, and the divisional supply chain director at Carillion. Moreover, Grant is the former group procurement director at EAGA PLC, director of supply chain management in Europe at Jabil, global corporate purchasing director in electronics and electricals at Electrolux, and owner and managing director at Supply Chain Management Resources Limited. Grant's extensive experience has allowed him to be an expert in the procurement, supply chain, and technology industries.

James - the epitome of customer service. Nothing - and I mean nothing - is too much trouble for James.
Little Josh - a guy who was managing night clubs in Dundee when he was only eighteen and as a consequence takes a firm, no nonsense approach to those who may have imbibed a few too many. There is NEVER any trouble in the Malmaison bar or on the gin terrace as a result. Also mixes any number of delicious mean cocktails along with Ben.
Big Josh - goes about his business with a seriousness and laser-like focus on customer excellence that one would expect from a very competent Bar Manager.

Duty Managers & Night Porter
I had some serious medical issues during my recent stay. I have achroniditis which affects the membranes protecting my spine. It is an incurable condition, but manageable via regular exercise and physio. However, if I fall I can’t get back on my feet without immediate assistance.
I also have severe allergies and Dundee has experienced one of the highest pollen counts in the UK during my recent stay.
It is not an exaggeration to say that a few days ago I could have died had it not been for the very timely intervention of Tina & Fraser…the paramedics who attended me said as much.

As GM, Dale knows he is only as good as the team that works for him and he has assembled a truly world-class team.
With Jordan, Deputy GM, the future of Malmaison Dundee is very secure should Dale eventually decide to move-on.
The staff at Malmaison Dundee have become my friends, and I can pay them no bigger compliment than that, a true home-from-home.
This is why when I return from El Paso to Dundee in Spring 2025 for 2-3 months I will be rejoining my very good friends at Malmaison Dundee.
