Allan Grosvenor

Co-founder and CEO at MSBAI (Techstars '20)

Allan Grosvenor is the Founder and CEO of MSBAI (Techstars '20), a company he established in September 2017. Based in the Greater Los Angeles Area, Grosvenor is a highly driven engineer with a passion for invention and advancing state-of-the-art technologies.2

Prior to founding MSBAI, Grosvenor worked as a Senior Engineer and Aerodynamics Lead at Masten Space Systems from January 2014 to October 2019. In this role, he led the reusable booster aerodynamic configuration design and implemented high-speed aerodynamics and aerothermodynamics design and analysis strategies. He also led the aerodynamic design and analysis for DARPA's XS-1 Phase 1 program, which aimed to demonstrate technology for a reusable aircraft capable of reaching the edge of space.2

Before Masten Space Systems, Grosvenor spent nearly a decade (June 2004 to January 2014) as a Senior Engineer and CFD Lead at Ramgen Power Systems. There, he led CFD efforts and implemented advanced strategies in High Performance Computing (HPC) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). His work involved developing unconventional supersonic technology under DOE and DARPA programs, as well as for industrial customers.2

With 25 years of R&D experience, Grosvenor specializes in designing experimental supersonic turbomachinery and hypersonic flight vehicles. His expertise spans High Performance Computing, engineering enterprise software, and artificial intelligence.3

Grosvenor founded MSBAI in 2017 with the vision of bringing the power of AI to simulations. In 2020, MSBAI was selected to join the Techstars Air Force Accelerator, and since then, their technology has been deployed by both government and commercial organizations.3

Grosvenor is known for his innovative approach to engineering problems. In one notable instance, while working on a DARPA project, he developed a system that allowed him to initiate compute jobs on DOD supercomputers remotely during his commute, using speech control to manage scripts and run design cycles.1

Currently, at MSBAI, Grosvenor is focused on giving engineers the "superpower" to harness cloud computing for inventing the future, with the goal of significantly increasing the number of engineers using cloud technology in their work.1
