This post may seem off-topic for me as an HR leader, but I’m currently working on a project with a renewable energy firm that is deploying rapid electric vehicle charging stations across the US. What makes this firm unique is they are installing and maintaining these chargers at no cost AND sharing the revenue generated with the property owners / managers where the chargers are installed. So why would this matter to HR leaders?

In today’s rapidly evolving world, offering forward-thinking benefits can set your company apart as a leader in both employee satisfaction and sustainability. One innovative way to do this is by installing electric vehicle (EV) chargers at your workplace. 🌍💚

Here's why adding EV chargers can be a game-changer for your organization:

  1. Enhance Employee Satisfaction: Providing EV charging stations directly on-site offers convenience and demonstrates your commitment to supporting employees' green initiatives.
  2. Attract Top Talent: As more professionals shift towards eco-friendly transportation, having EV chargers available can make your company more attractive to top candidates who prioritize sustainability and modern benefits.
  3. Promote Sustainability: By encouraging the use of electric vehicles, you’re actively contributing to reducing your company’s carbon footprint. This showcases your company’s dedication to corporate social responsibility; something you can include in your ESG reporting to your shareholders and investors.

Integrating EV chargers into your employee benefits package is more than just a perk—it's a strategic move towards a more sustainable and employee-centric workplace. Contact me if you’re interested in learning more.

I recently joined GoChallenge as a Board Advisor and Investor and I’m now a participant having completed my first challenge in July with the team at Red Hat. What a fantastic experience! The app is incredibly user friendly and easily syncs up with whatever you use to track your steps, in my case my Apple watch. We had WhatsApp groups set up for everyone participating as well as our specific teams. The motivating quotes in the app and the weekly video communications from the team at GoChallenge were encouraging to keep us going.

The best part had to be the camaraderie amongst the team. The level of engagement and support amongst the team members was amazing, with everyone giving each other a boost and cheering each other on. And just the motivation to get out and MOVE! It’s such a great program and terrific way to engage employees, get them working together and get everyone moving to enhance physical and mental health. So incredibly important in today’s work environment. Highly recommend to my fellow HR professionals looking for wellness solutions and employee engagement tools. Well done GoChallenge !
