Dear friends,

After much reflection, I have come to a difficult decision: it’s time for me to step down from my roles as Chairwoman and board member of The Mom Project.

When I founded the company nearly nine years ago, I embraced this responsibility with deep conviction and reverence for the gravity of our mission. This makes my decision all the more bittersweet, as I believe there is a fundamental misalignment between my vision and the current direction of the company.

I am very grateful for the opportunity to have served as the guardian of this mission. The experience has changed me, and I’m so proud of the $900 million+ in economic impact we’ve connected our community with, the mindsets we’ve shifted, and thankful for the most amazing people I’ve met along the way. Building The Mom Project has shown me the mountains you can move when you marry talent, a will to win, and purpose.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported me on this incredible journey and helped turn this mission into reality. It has been more rewarding than I could have ever imagined.

As for what’s next, I plan to spend this summer with my family and reflect on where my path will take me.

Please join me in continuing to advocate for The Mom Project’s mission: building a future where women never have to choose between work and family.

Sincerely yours, Allison

As I scrolled through my social media feed this afternoon while waiting for my flight, I came across posts recognizing May as Mental Health Awareness Month. I hadn't realized that mental health had its own designated month, but witnessing people courageously sharing their stories with vulnerability struck me, highlighting the progress we've made.

Nearly two years ago, I found myself feeling unhinged. I can recount with meticulous detail the feeling of being overwhelmed with emotion, tears streaming down my face uncontrollably in a dressing room at an outlet mall. The prospect of leaving my baby the next day for a work trip across the country filled me with fear, guilt, and sadness.

For many months, I suffered in silence, hesitant to confide in anyone besides my husband and my mom. Nights were often restless, plagued by legs that refused to stay still and a persistent sense of worry that persisted despite my attempts to rationalize and find contentment or gratitude.

That summer, I made the decision to seek help. Stepping away from work, I sought guidance from a doctor to better understand the illness that had been robbing me of peace of mind. Gradually, the darkness began to lift, and I found myself rediscovering my sense of self and, most importantly, started to begin to feel like "me" again.

I am immensely grateful for the friends and family who encouraged me to seek the support I needed. While my mental health journey has been winding, and I am constantly seeking ways to improve, I find myself in a much better place than I have been in a long while. I hope that as more individuals share their own experiences, we can collectively feel less isolated in our struggles because life is too short to navigate this journey alone. <3
